AJC File Server is a Windows server process to make files available over the network or internet. It can be used by programs such as AJC Sync to transfer files to and from a remote Windows machine in a reliable and efficient way. Think of it as an equivalent to an FTP server only better.
Instead of setting up an FTP server on your remote Windows machine you can intall AJC File Server and it will run as a Windows service. If you are sending/receiving large files and they already exist on the other end it will only need to send small fragments of the files for the changes only. FTP servers always set the timestamps on files to the current time whereas AJC File Server will put the correct time stamps on the files. You can use encryption for secure transfers and control who has access to the service and what folders they can access etc.
